Staff in the Eastern Region
UNISON employs 1,200 staff throughout the UK. Most work in our regional offices to support branches and local reps. Many branches also employ staff locally to support their work.
UNISON Eastern region is one of 12 regions which cover the UK. Each region has its own office and a regional council made up of delegates from all branches in the region.
The regional council develops policies and puts them into action regionally. It's the main link between neighbouring branches and between branches and UNISON's national executive council.
The Regional Secretary for Eastern Region is Glyn Hawker. The Regional Secretary leads the regional staff, coordindates the relatationship with lay activists and liaises between the UNISON centre and the region. Supporting our Regional Secretary at a strategic and operational level within the region there are four Regional Managers, who form part of the Regional Management Team (RMT). These are Tracey Lambert, Sasha Pearce, Margaret Lynch and Ann Glover.
We have four teams of organised and support staff:
- Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire
- Cambridgeshire & Norfolk
- Essex & Suffolk
- Regional Core Resources
