STUDENT NURSE RECRUITMENT SUCCESS!

During September up & down the Region, Student Nurse Inductions & Fresher Fairs at Universities were held.

UNISON staff were present at every single one of them, complete with Student Nurse packs, bags, nursing dictionaries, trolley coin keyrings, personal hand sanitizers, UNISON information, copies of Nursing Times etc, etc, etc  ……no mean task when sometimes there were 3 scheduled for the same day, at the same time & all in completely different parts of the Region….a logistical nightmare!

But, 600 new student nurse members later Tracey Lambert, Regional Head of Health, reflects on the question ‘was it all worth it?’…….” Most definitely yes, it was worth it.  These students are the future of our NHS & of the union, we need them to be in membership to help direct the policies & practices of both organisations.  I am really pleased that we now have 600 more student nurses on board & hope that they continue their membership with us, the largest NHS union in the UK, upon qualification.

I would like to say a BIG thank you to all those who assisted in this latest student nurse recruitment activity.”
