Labour Party Conferences
UNISON Labour Link was the only union at the East of England Labour Party Regional Conference held in Stevenage on 20 – 22 November 2009.
The Conference was attended by around 150 Labour members and supporters from all over the East of England and focused on the threat the Tories post to hard-working people and families in our region.
The main rallying call led by Labour’s Deputy Leader Harriet Harman MP said:
"I was delighted to come to Stevenage and speak with Labour supporters who came to the town from all over the East of England. One thing in particular was very clear to me from the Conference: in all of our communities right across this part of the county, the Tories represent the change that ordinary people can’t afford. Labour is fighting back in Stevenage for the council elections next year as well as for the General Election."
The Exhibition was focused on the UNISON’s Million Voices Campaign and 94 people signed up during the Conference, including Harriett Harman, Barbara Follett and John Prescott.
