UNISON members in Bedfordshire,Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Suffolk and Norfolk joined with thousands more around the UK in the biggest day of action for a generation demanding the government reconsider the demand for public service workers to pay more, work longer to receive less.
In towns across the UNISON members Eastern Region, many taking industrial action for the first time, joined with other public service workers to man picket lines and enjoy the solidarity of collective action outside council offices, schools,hospitals and refuge depots.
Many of the picket were shown support by a majority of the public showing their support for the action through honking of car horns and cheers and applause at the many marches, rallies and demonstrations across the region.
On a chilly November day, an unprecedented show of support for the right to a decent pension and a dignified old age, members came together with other trade unionist their children, family and friends to enjoy a day of solidarity on one of the many marches and rallies held in the region. Whistles and horns blared, balloons and banners were raised in demand for a world that respects and values all of our citizens.
