Black Members in Eastern Region
Hello and a BIG welcome to the BMC webpages - we hope you find these pages useful to you. If you have any suggestions about these pages, then please do get in contact with us, it would be great to hear from you.
Black members in UNISON Eastern Region are all welcome to get involved in the work of Regional Committee. In doing so we can;
- play a key role in winning equality in OUR workplaces
- actively challenge racism in the Eastern Region
- ensure we are profiled in UNISON's organising work
- network together for ongoing support in UNISON
As black members in UNISON Eastern Region we aim to work together to win positive change in places where we work and in the communities where we live. Getting actively involved as black members in UNISON means we become stronger together - and the stronger we become the more opportunities we have to influence positive changes at work and in the community.
The Eastern Region BMC meets four times a year to discuss and action the Black Members annual work programme. The BMC also receive reports back from representatives who sit on all Regional Committees/Council, the UNISON National Black Members Committee, SERTUC and other areas of the region for example the Regional Equality Action Group, as well as the various service groups such as Health, Local Government and Police and Justice.
Meetings of the BMC for 2012 are: TBA
