Retired Members in Eastern Region
Hello, thank you for visiting our Eastern Region Retired Members webpages - we hope you find the content useful. If you have any suggestions for the content of these pages or anything that you think we should publish, like a relevant article or a link to website, that might be useful to other UNISON retired members in the region then please let us know by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org
The Secretary of the Eastern Regional Retired Members Committee is Brenda Underwood. The Committee works to raise awareness of issues which concern older people and to influence decision makers. Our priorities include:
- Pensioner poverty
- Health care and age discrimination
- Isolation and mobility issues
We believe UNISON should reflect the society we live and work in. There are more than 10 million elderly people in the UK. Retired and working members have a shared interest in obtaining decent incomes in older age, a universal health service and the creation of a civilised society.
Today's workers are tomorrow's pensioners and UNISON's members work in public services on which many older people rely.
As a Retired Member of UNISON you can keep in touch with your old workplace colleagues, attend branch meetings and take part in regionally organised social activities and campaigning work. Many UNISON Branches have their own Retired Members sections and if they haven't and you are interested in helping your Branch to set one up, then why don't you contact them to discuss further?
In addition UNISON Retired Members enjoy all the benefits of UNISON membership including:
- Legal advice
- Welfare support
- Special discounts and offers on a wide range of financial and other services
ALL THIS FOR A MERE £15.00 FOR THE REST OF YOUR RETIRED LIFE!
