TUC Seminar on Women and Health and Safety
Thursday 3rd February 2011, Congress House, Gt Russell Street, London
The TUC is organising a half day seminar on women and health and safety. The seminar is aimed at Health and Safety officers and reps and Equality Officers and reps, Women’s Officers and any union researchers or officers with an interest in gender and occupational health.
The afternoon will include presentations on the following:
• The impact of the menopause on women at work by Professor Amanda Griffiths, Deputy Director, Institute of Work, Health and Organisations, University of Nottingham;
• Speakers from the HSE focusing on equality and health and safety
Workshop discussions will focus on identifying the barriers to women becoming health and safety reps and devising strategies to increase the number of women health and safety reps.
Refreshments will be provided.
