Philip Kemp

Philip Kemp
UNISON Eastern Region
Learning Development Organiser
1965 - 2012

Suddenly and tragically Philip died from a heart attack aged only 46.  He had worked for UNISON in a number of roles since May 2004 and will be remembered by colleagues and friends for his strong commitment to lifelong learning.  There are many UNISON members who have learnt and developed because of Philips's work.  His funeral took place on 30 July in Hull where he came from.  UNISON was represented by Greg Grant, former Regional Secretary, Pam Johnson, former Head of Learning & Organising, Craig Young, Apprenticeship Project Worker and Glyn Hawker, Regional Secretary.

There will be a memorial event for Philip  in the region on 21 September which will be open for all friends and colleagues to attend.  Details will be circulated as soon as possible.  Philips' mother has asked that any donations in his memory be made to Heart Research UK
