Unison Learning Reps Level 1

Who is it for?

It’s for you if you are a fairly newly appointed Unison Learning Representative.

What will it be about?

The key aim of this course is that after completing this three day course and the assignments, participants will feel confident to carry out their role as a UNISON Union learning rep to: 

• Promote lifelong learning in UNISON and in the workplace
• Investigate the learning needs of people in a place of employment
• Find and assess information on education and training opportunities
• Present information appropriately
• Work with employers and the UNISON Branch to promote lifelong learning
• Offer support to other learners
• Understand effective ways of assessing learning needs
• Gain practice in planning and negotiating for learning activity in the workplace
• Understand the main elements of learning agreements

Unison Learning Reps - Induction Level 1, Part 1

This three-day course is aimed at branch activists who want to organise around Unison’s learning agenda.  It will help you work with members and employers around learning.  We will run these courses when there are sufficient ULR’s in a geographical area.

Unison Learning Reps - Induction Level 1, Part 2

This two-day course is a follow on to the 3 day course and focuses on organising and negotiating around learning.

ULR Parts 1 & 2 courses will be arranged in conjunction with Phil Kemp, the Regional Learning & Development Organiser as new ULR’s are appointed. To register your interest in attending this course please complete an application form and as soon as a course is arranged in your area we will contact you.
