Public Sector Equality Duties
What will it be about?
This course will help :-
• To give you an understanding of the principles of the various equality duties;
• To consider the underlying reasons why the equality duties are necessary;
• To explore the main aspects of each of the duties and how they differ;
• To discuss how you can use the equality duties in the branch to gain improvements for members;
• To plan some realistic actions in the branch, in order to organise and bargain around the equality duties.
Aims of the course:
This course aims to give you an introduction to the three duties, their shared principles and differences. During the course you will learn about the general and specific duties of each duty and how they can be practically applied to make a difference to UNISON members’ lives.
