Branch Education Coordinators

Who is it for?

This course is for Branch Education Co-ordinators and/or Members of branch education teams. The course will also be useful to other branch officers wishing to use UNISON education and training resources as part of the branch development process.

The Aims of this Course are ;

• To give UNISON Branch Education Co-ordinators and other members of the branch education team the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to successfully carry out their role

• To develop a team approach to Branch Education and Training

• To help us to understand the pivotal role of education in supporting and developing workplace and branch organisation.

• To understand the team approach to branch education and roles within the branch education team

After completing this course participants will:

* Understand the role and function of branch education co-ordinators and education team members
* Understand the role of education and training in UNISON organisation development
* Be aware of the education and training opportunities available in UNISON
* Have explored ways of assessing the education and training needs of the branch, activists and members
* Have experience of drawing up a branch education plan
* Know how to plan a branch education event and recruit participants
* Know how to deal with reluctance to attend courses
