Branch Treasurers

Who is the course for?

This course is for all branch treasurers or UNISON members who would like to become branch treasurers.

The course deals with the everyday concerns of a typical branch treasurer, such as the cashbook, bank accounts, petty cash and how to prepare the annual accounts.

It is not a specialist course for qualified accountants.

Aims

The course will help you to:-

• increase your financial skills

• use a set of tools and techniques that will help you to carry out the job of the branch treasurer

• have a realistic idea of the treasurers job

• make you more confident in taking on the role of treasurer by demystifying finance.

• improve basic financial information in your branch so that the executive can take informed decisions

• improve the two-way flow of information between branch, regional office and head office
